We’re enjoying another at-sea day. We had stayed up quite late last night as it was karaoke night in the ship’s main bar. We had goaded three of the passengers we’ve met into signing up since there had been a lot of discussion of how well they each could sing. Two of them turned out to be extremely good. Prior to karaoke, we had attended another wine pairing dinner. The dinner was supposed to be for twenty people but by the time Jeff had finished inviting everyone we had grown friendly with, the count was up to forty. Amongst the eight wines they served was a Brunello that was out of this world. They set up the dining table in the library which turned out to be special. It was nice to eat beside a fireplace and dark wood paneling.
The Red Sea has been extremely smooth today, almost like glass. We saw long ribbons of red plankton out the windows while we dining at lunch. We had a terrific dinner in the ship’s steakhouse tonight. Another couple had invited us to join them and the Catholic priest that does the daily mass on-board. The priest is from Goa, India and had all kinds of interesting factoids about our recent visit to India.
We’re nearing 24 degrees latitude so our passage through the Suez Canal is not far away now.
