Sailing the Arabian Sea off the coast of Oman – Day 25

I’m feeling much better today. After walking my miles around the pool deck, I ate a late breakfast as Jeff was getting a haircut. At 11:00am we had our pirate drill. The captain came on over the loudspeakers and instructed us to head towards interior spaces away from all windows or open spaces on the ship whenever he ordered “safe haven, safe haven.” And that was it. So we are ready!

Tonight we attended a birthday dinner for one of the passengers we had met. We got together in Aqualina, one of the specialty restaurants, for dinner for eight people. We had a great time celebrating. Tomorrow at 10:00am we reach the Gulf of Aden.

Hello from Jeff

Just a quick addition to Ron’s great explanation of the next couple of days.
The mood on the ship has altered a bit. No one is running scared but most of the conversations now begin with comments questions or concerns about possible pirate attacks.
We all continue to have fun and no real concerns seem evident but there is a new undercurrent that wasn’t present until today. The outstretched fire hoses covering the promenade deck are a constant reminder that the cruise line and our captain intend to protect us.
