Mill Valley, California

We checked into the Mill Valley Inn which is located on a side-street in downtown Mill Valley.  Our room wasn't ready, so we walked around town.  Recalling that there was a great wine store up the street, we headed there to search out a nice dessert wine since we were meeting Phil and AnneMarie for dinner later that evening.  The wine store had the exact thing we were looking for and after our purchase, we headed over to the local cafe to get some hot chocolate and a latte.

On the way back to the inn, we discovered a great hat store where we picked up two Stetsons for our upcoming trip to China.  Our room was ready and was quite nice.  The balcony of the room backed on to a redwood forest and was very peaceful.  Our only complaint with the room was that the shelf above the bathroom sink stuck out making it almost impossible to get your head over the sink to wash up.

Phil and AnneMarie met us in the lounge of the inn to enjoy a wine and cheese reception.  We caught up on all the upcoming wedding festivities and then headed over to D'Angelo's for dinner.  Loved the food!  The dessert wine was a hit and Jeff and I realized how much we miss spending time with Phil and AnneMarie.

The next morning, we had a pleasant breakfast provided by the inn before heading over to Phil and AnneMarie's house.  They had been to Santa Fe recently and had purchased several pieces of art that they wanted us to see.  After banishing Milou (their dog) to the outside,  they took us on a tour.  Each piece was spectacular and we were glad we got to see everything.

We then said our goodbyes and headed off to Napa.
