We came upon the Seattle Aquarium and decided to see what was inside. They've got a very nice selection of water life including a good size octopus, but he was only interested in sleeping during our visit. We got to see the harbor seals being fed and the man in charge of feeding gave us a private detailed explanation of the seals. Two of the seals, one pictured here, have been residing here for over 20 years.
We then walked back across the street and took an elevator hidden in a parking structure to take us back up the hill to the Pike Place Market area. Lots and lots of tourists. Its sort of San Francisco Wharf area rolled into LA's Farmers Market. Beautiful flower arrangements for $5. We ate breakfast at a restaurant inside the market that overlooked the bay. Afterwords, we spent time walking up and down the market seeing the sights. We bought seven bottles of wine to take onboard with us and headed back to see the Seattle Art Museum otherwise known as SAM.
Wow! What a beautiful museum. It has an incredible array of African pieces. We spent several hours enjoying the displays before heading back to the hotel to crash.
After a few hours of rest, we headed out for dinner in downtown at Andalucca. Wow! Another great restaurant. Specializing in tapas, we started out with a glass of Cava and proceeded to delight in several small tantalizing plates. We had potato croquettes stuffed with idizabel cheese, grilled asparagus, mini crab tower, spicy calamari, crispy duck cake and two orders of skewers of beef tenderloin. All that was missing was Phil and AnneMarie to enjoy this terrific feast!
We grabbed a cab back to our hotel so that Jeff could catch up on some repeats of the new fall TV shows. Good night!
