On our way to Calistoga to attend one of our best friends’ daughter’s wedding, we stopped at my brother’s house in Salinas. We had flown in to SFO and rented a car for the week. The newly renovated terminal 2 at SFO is magnificent. They took the original terminal building that had been closed for years and updated it. American and Virgin America now fly out of the terminal.
We drove the 2 hours south to Salinas, stopped and picked up a beef tenderloin and then headed to my brother’s and his wife’s house. We barbecued, drank wine and visited for the afternoon and evening. We had a great time catching up. We then checked in to the local Courtyard Marriott for our overnight stay.
The next day, Loren took us down to our ranch in Greenfield to see our new siltation pond that had cost us thousands of dollars. It looked just like I expected - a large hole in the ground filled with irrigation run-off. Exciting stuff!
We dropped off Loren back at his house and headed north to Mill Valley to visit Phil and Anne Marie.
