Capri, Italy - Day 45

We awoke to another beautiful day onboard overlooking the cliffs of Sorrento. We had a late breakfast and then grabbed a tender over to the port area to head to Capri. Jeff went and bought our hydrofoil tickets while I held a place in line to enter the hydrofoil. By 10:00am we were on our way for the 20 minute trip to the island.

Upon arrival in the small port of Capri, we gave our luggage to a porter who would take our bags by golf cart to our hotel while we wandered the town. The only way to reach our hotel was by taking the funicular up to the top of the island and then walks through the pedestrian only streets of the city. Near the end of a very long pedestrian-only lane sat our hotel. The views from our suite were killer. You could hear the waves crashing against the cliffs below.

We walked back into town to go to the cliffs that looked back at where our hotel sat, saw the winding Via Krupp with its hairpin turns and then headed back into town for lunch of buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes and lots of wine. After lunch, we returned to the hotel to enjoy the pool and a great Negroni. We had dinner in the hotels open air restaurant overlooking the gulf. What an awesome day!

  1. What incredible views. I know little about Sorrento or Capri but both look stunning. Hotel also looks truly amazing. I remember you saying that you would leave the ship for a couple days and can understand why.

    Keep enjoying!
