Arrived in Rome early yesterday. Spent most of the day catching up on our sleep and then went for a walk over to the Spanish Steps. Ate at an outdoor cafe on the Via Veneto before hurrying back to our room as the skies began to pour. Huge thunder, lightening and lots of rain all night long.
Today, we went to see Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovani in Laterano. Afterwords, the infection in Jeff's eye was really bothering him, so we headed back past the Coliseum to our hotel to rest before heading to the Silver Wind docked at Civitavecchia.
