Barcelona, Spain

Ship docked right at the base of La Rambla. I love it went you get the opportunity to dock right in the middle of a city. It always makes the experience memorable. We started at the Monument a Colom and wandered up La Rambla before heading over to Barcelona Cathedral to view the fantastic cloisters. At the Museu d’Historia de la Ciutat we took an elevator down to an incredible excavation. There were glass walkways suspended over Roman ruins showing drainage systems, baths, laundries and homes. It was really quite something and totally unexpected. We thought we were going to an art exhibit.

After stopping at a sidewalk café for some sustenance, we headed over to an area called El Born. It had lots of narrow streets and artist galleries. We headed back to the ship for a late lunch. The ship stayed docked overnight in Barcelona and tomorrow is the end of our cruise.....
