Boston

Before heading to New Hampshire to attend our niece's high school graduation from Phillips Exeter, we spent a few days in Boston. We stayed at a small boutique hotel called Nine Zero which was located near City Hall just at the head of the Commons. It turned out to be a perfect location to revisit the city.

After an excellent breakfast the hotel provided as part of our room rate, we headed over to the Holocaust Memorial to see the six glass towers inscribed with six million identification numbers.

We then walked through Fauneil Hall before hiking over to wander the Commons and the Public Garden.

After enjoying the crowds in the park, we wandered down Newbury Street and found a great hat store.  Buying four hats exhausted us, so we found a cafe and had a great salad accompanied by an equally great sangria fortified with several types of hard liquor.

We did a long walk back to the hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing in our room.  We didn't want to get dressed up for dinner and found a casual restaurant next door to the hotel.  It turned out to have excellent food and we had a great time.
