Puerto Chiapas, Mexico
Strange port. There really is no town nearby. We went on a shore excursion to a mangrove forest to view various varieties of birds. Luckily, it was not too hot as the boats we were in had minimal sun-protection. This area of Mexico is just getting underway to accept tourists. Our guides couldn't be more accommodating but it clearly will be years before they will be ready to properly handle large groups. Jeff hated every moment but the rest of us had a fine time. Saw lots of birds and learned about the different types of mangrove trees.
